About
Bilge is a Technical Architect working in the space industry at ArianeGroup, where she focuses on platform software, on-prem cloud environments, and infrastructure automation.
Her career has moved across several segments of space systems. She started in Turkey as a C++ software engineer, working on game and vehicle simulator software, and later on satellite design and mission analysis tools. In Germany, she worked at OHB as a Software Engineer on the onboard software of SARah, a synthetic aperture radar satellite system, developing according to ESA/ECSS standards and working with PUS-based services.
She then moved into the ground segment at EUMETSAT, working as a Data Processing Systems and Applications Engineer on the EARS project. EARS supports near-real-time acquisition and processing of data from European polar-orbiting meteorological satellites, using a distributed network of antenna stations around the world. The work connected her onboard software background with the systems that collect, process, and deliver satellite data for weather forecasting and operational use on Earth.
Today, her work connects that background with modern infrastructure: DevOps, platform engineering, virtual machine provisioning, internal automation, and making complex on-prem systems more reliable and easier to operate.
Outside of work, Bilge is a climber and outdoor enthusiast. She enjoys rock climbing, bouldering, mountaineering, cycling, and long days in nature. She also volunteers with SOS-Kinderdorf, supporting activities with children.
She values honesty, diligence, curiosity, and practical progress. This website is her personal space for technical notes, projects, learning logs, and stories from work, volunteering, and the mountains.
